Windmöller & Hölscher to Loose 350 Staff

German-based flexible packaging machinery manufacturer Windmöller & Hölscher plans to loose about 350 staff, citing the cancellation of orders and a slump in demand as the reasons behind the redundancies.

All job losses will be at its headquarters in Lengerich.

The company has previously implemented short-time working, early retirement and contract buyouts to try and streamline the business during the economic downturn.

Union IG Metall has reportedly said an in-house collective agreement prevents the company from compulsory redundancies, according to plasteurope.com.
